At Rosewood Eucalyptus Oil, they’re more than just a business—they’re a family carrying on a proud Australian tradition that spans generations.
The journey began in 1983 when parents, Merv and Marion Piper, founded the business on their family farm in Rosewood, a small farming town nestled near the Snowy Mountains in southern NSW. But the roots of our story go back even further—back to the late 1930s when my grandfather, Arthur Piper, was cutting and distilling Eucalyptus oil at a time when the industry was booming. Back then, Eucalyptus oil wasn’t just a product—it was a way of life for many families trying to make a living off the land.
My father Merv started cutting leaves when he was just 14, and he never stopped. He poured his heart into the craft and passed that knowledge and passion down to Steve. Steve Piper, and he is proud to be the third generation of their family involved in the Eucalyptus oil industry. These days, he is based in Perth working in the mining industry, but returns to the family farm whenever I can. The connection to our land and our heritage runs deep.
We hand-harvest our oil from the Eucalyptus Dives variety, also known as Broadleaf Peppermint, which naturally grows in the southeast of NSW. This hands-on approach ensures we maintain the purity and quality that’s been part of our process for decades.
